Slic3r is a very commonly used free slicing software.  A copy came with the CoLiDo DIY 3D printer on the software flash drive, and can be accessed from within Repetier.  Since then, I’ve installed Slic3r separately, and run it by itself, and then run the gcode files via Repetier later.
