Yarr! Another Hat!

Sometimes you just need an example for an assignment for students. Getting through a school day can cramp your creativity… so I made another pirate hat. This time out of classroom crafting materials.

… and maybe a bit steampunky. I didn’t know how to make a dome on short notice, so it started to look more like a tophat. Since it was already going down that route, I decided to borrow an extra gear and a couple of extra wrenches from parts storage to make a “gear and crossed wrenches” substitute for a typical pirate logo.

The kids thought it was hilarious as I wore this around school, and some seemed to take inspiration from it when making their own hats today. Definitely felt like a win today.
